Housekeeping Lead
(Sleep Operations Manager)
About This Role
Tops'l Farm is a farm retreat, event venue, and glamping campground on 83 acres in mid-coast Maine. We believe in the importance of stepping outside the hectic pace of day-to-day life and spending meaningful time in the woods with close friends and family.
We are seeking a Sleep Operations Lead for our 2026 season. This is a hands-on role for someone who finds genuine satisfaction in creating beautiful, peaceful spaces—and who can be the eyes, ears, and quality control for our housekeeping team.
You will work alongside our housekeeping team (not above them), ensuring every cabin, glamping site, and event space meets the Tops'l standard. You will be the voice of the department—communicating needs, flagging issues, and keeping the Director of Operations informed so the team has what they need to succeed. All team members report to the Director of Operations, but you provide the on-the-ground accountability and quality assurance that keeps everything running smoothly.
What This Role Is (And Isn't)
This role IS:
• A working team member who cleans and turns over spaces alongside the team
• The quality control checkpoint—the last set of eyes before guests arrive
• The department's voice to leadership—flagging supply needs, maintenance issues, and team concerns
• The person who holds the team accountable to our standards with clarity and kindness
• An organizer who maintains checklists, calendars, and systems
This role is NOT:
• The person everyone reports to (that's the Director of Operations)
• A desk job or administrative-only position
• Someone who delegates without doing the work themselves
What Makes This Role Special
• Work in a peaceful, beautiful environment: Your workspace is 83 acres of woods, meadows, and historic Maine buildings. Much of your work happens in quiet solitude, with the chickadees and chipmunks as company.
• Be part of a supportive team: You will work alongside a small team of passionate people who share your commitment to quality.
• Predictable, consistent schedule: We have housekeeping needs Sunday -Thursday, with part time (20-25 hours per week) and full time options available. You will know your schedule in advance.
• Your work matters: Every space you prepare contributes directly to the meaningful experiences our guests have—from wedding weekends to intimate retreats.
• Clear expectations and support: You will have documented systems, checklists, and direct access to the Director of Operations. You will always know what success looks like.
• Your voice will be heard: You are the connection between the team and leadership. Your observations and suggestions shape how we operate.

Who You Are
You find genuine satisfaction in creating order and beauty. You notice the details others miss: the pillow that needs fluffing, the smudge on the mirror, the towel that is not quite aligned. You take pride in spaces that feel cared for—and you can kindly help others see what you see.
Reliable and accountable: You show up when you say you will, and you follow through on commitments
Detail -oriented with high standards: You see what needs to be done without being told, and you do not cut corners
