A weekday on a working farm in Midcoast Maine, with your wedding at the heart of it. Monday noon to Wednesday noon, no one else on the property. Up to 34 people, and every one of them sleeps here.
A Working Farm
Tops'l Farm is a working farm on 83 acres in Midcoast Maine. Not a venue with a barn on it.
We tend the gardens and cut the flowers that go on your table. We grow the herbs. The chefs you hire cook in our kitchen.
Midweek, the farm is quieter, the light is longer, and the whole place holds one small wedding without straining.
What This Is
Two nights, the whole property, no other guests.
Everyone on the list sleeps here — the Farmhouse, the Farm Cottage, eleven woodland cabins. Thirteen units, thirty-four beds. One table that seats all of you.
The Meadowhouse sauna, hot tub and cold plunge are open the whole time.

Your guests book and pay for their own rooms, directly with us. Lodging does not sit on your invoice.
The rate is the whole stay and experience, not just the bed: welcome drink, breakfast hamper each morning, the Meadowhouse and everything in it, robe and towel each, the run of the farm. Room to breathe.
The Table
You'll eat what's best that week, cooked by the best people in this state.
We keep a short list of chefs and caterers, each with their own way — fire in the meadow, plated in the barn, one long table. They earned the list by how they buy: from the farms and the boats in this county, in season, at prices that keep those people working. Morningdew greens. Stonecipher peppers. Brodis wild blueberries. Oysters out of the Damariscotta that morning. Herbs and flowers cut here.
More of it comes off this farm every season — the gardens are growing, and we supply what we can to whoever is cooking.
At thirty-four, one kitchen can cook every meal of the two days. You and your planner choose which. Whoever it is, the money stays close to the ground it came from.
The Farm
Six event spaces: the Woodland, the Meadow, the Event Barn and Porch, the Glass House and clear tent, the ceremony sites, the Riverside Yurt.
The Medomak River, the swimming hole, trails, gardens, animals. Speakers, mics, bistro and event lighting. A commercial kitchen for the chefs you hire.
At this size you'll use two or three of the spaces and have the rest to walk through.
Meadowhouse
The sauna is hot each morning. The wood-fired hot tub looks out at the field. The cold plunge is there for the brave.
Yours the whole two days — the afternoon before, the morning after.
Group yoga in the Glass House, the meadow or the yurt, $300 a session. Massage in your room, $150 an hour.
The Two Days
Monday noon to Wednesday noon. Here's how it tends to go.
Monday— Welcome
Guests arrive from noon and find their cabins in the woods, the Farm Cottage, the rooms in the Farmhouse. Keys, a welcome drink, and the rest of the afternoon with nothing in it.
The sauna is fired. The river is a short walk down. The coast is twenty minutes if anyone wants it.
Dinner is at one long table — or at a lobster shack down the road, if that's more your speed. Afterward, the fire pit, and a sky with nothing between you and it.
Tuesday — Wedding Day

Breakfast hampers at the doors. Coffee in the Glass House. Getting ready in the cabins with the windows open, and no schedule until you make one.
Vows in the meadow, under the apple tree, by the Medomak, or in the Event Barn. Thirty-four people, close enough that every one of them hears you.
Then dinner, one table, cooked by the kitchen you chose. It runs as long as it runs. The fire pits are lit by the time the plates are cleared.
Wednesday — Farewell
Breakfast, slow, and nobody counting. Coffee in the barn or the Glass House while the last stories get told.
A final walk to the river, or a last turn in the sauna before the drive.
Out by noon. The farm goes back to work, and stays the way you left it.

Monday noon to Wednesday noon, the whole property, exclusive. Six event spaces, sound and light, the Meadowhouse, the commercial kitchen, and the run of 83 acres — plus tables, chairs and benches for thirty-four, set and struck by us.
Not through us
Food, drink, planner, flowers, photography and music are contracted with your own vendors. Lodging is booked and paid by your guests.
