A weekend on a working farm in Midcoast Maine, with your wedding at the heart of it. Friday noon to Sunday noon, no one else on property. Mornings belong to the farm, evenings to the celebration, afternoons to the coast.
A Working Farm
Tops'l Farm is a working farm on 83 acres in Midcoast Maine. Not a venue with a barn on it.
We tend the gardens and cut the flowers that go on your table.
We grow the herbs.
We raise the pork and the lamb.
The chefs you hire cook with Maine as their inspiration and their kitchen.
Ten seasons. A handful of weddings a year.
What This Is
Most venues sell a block of hours. This is the farm, from Friday noon to Sunday noon, closed to everyone else. Thursday is yours if you want it.
Thirty-four of the people you love sleep here — the Farmhouse, the Farm Cottage, eleven woodland cabins. Up to 140 for the celebration. The Meadowhouse sauna, hot tub and cold plunge are open the whole time. Saturday morning yoga to kick things off if you’d like.

Your guests book and pay for their own rooms, directly with us. Lodging does not sit on your invoice.
The rate is the whole stay, not the bed: welcome drink, breakfast hamper each morning, the Meadowhouse spa and everything in it, robe and towel each, the run of the farm. Tax and gratuity inside the number — nothing added at checkout.
The Table
You'll eat what's best that week, cooked by the best people in this state.
A short list of chefs and caterers, each with their own approach to Maine food — wood-fired in the meadow, plated in the barn, one long table. They're on our list for a shared commitment to Maine’s farms and boats - always in season, paid direct whenever possible. Morningdew greens. Stonecipher peppers. Brodis wild blueberries. Damariscotta oysters, that morning. Herbs and flowers cut here.
More of it comes off this farm every season. You and your planner choose the kitchen; the money stays close to the ground it came from.
The Farm
Six event spaces: the Woodland, the Meadow, the Event Barn and Porch, the Glass House and clear tent, the ceremony sites, the Riverside Yurt.
The Medomak River, the swimming hole, trails, gardens, animals. Speakers, mics, bistro and event lighting. A commercial kitchen for the chefs you hire.
Meadowhouse
The sauna is fired up each morning.
The wood-fired hot tub looks out at the field. The cold plunge is there for the brave.
Meadowhouse is yours the whole weekend — before the rehearsal and the ceremony, the morning after. Not an add-on. Part of what the farm is.
Group yoga can be arranged in the Glass House, the meadow or the yurt - no charge to you for a session.
The Weekend
Two days, and no part of it in a hurry.
Friday
Guests arrive from noon onward and find their cabins. The rehearsal dinner is at long tables in the barn or field. The fire goes late.
Saturday
Getting ready in the farmhouse. Vows in the meadow, the woodland, or the barn. Dinner under the lights in the Glass House, then dancing and late night at the fire.
Sunday
A breakfast farewell if you’d like. No one rushes. One last walk to the Medomak River.
Come Wednesday or Thursday
More couples are folding the bachelor and bachelorette weekend into the wedding weekend itself. One trip instead of three. Your people fly once, take one longer weekend, and spend the extra days here rather than in a rented house somewhere else.
Wednesday or Thursday - the farm can be closed to everyone else and all thirteen units are yours. The sauna, the river, the nearby swimming hole, the trails. Oysters off the Damariscotta, a day out on the water, massages in the Riverside Yurt — your planner can arrange any of it.
By the time the rest of your guests arrive on Friday, your closest people have already been here two days.

The Farm Fee
$42,000 June through September
$34,000 in May and October
Friday noon to Sunday noon. The whole property, exclusive — no other guests on the farm that weekend.
Six event spaces. Sound and light. Meadowhouse — woodland sauna, wood-fired hot tub, cold plunge — open all day. A full commercial kitchen for your catering team (if needed). Saturday morning yoga. The run of 83 acres.
The Farm Set of base rentals is included: ceremony benches, farm tables and black cross-back chairs in the Glass House, cocktail tables. Ceremony setup included.
Thursday, if you want it — $8,000. The farm closes to everyone else from Thursday noon; all thirteen units are booked by your group. Rooms billed separately. Without exclusivity, book rooms at the nightly rate and come early — no farm fee.
Farm Lodging
Your guests book and pay for their own rooms, directly with us. Lodging never sits on your invoice. One rate per night, all in — a welcome drink, breakfast hamper each morning, Meadowhouse and everything in it, robe and towel, the run of the farm. Tax and gratuity inside the number.
No minimums
No food and beverage minimum. No bar minimum. We take no commission on anything you spend with your chef, florist or photographer.
There's no catering number to hit here. Oysters on the porch, family-style in the meadow, six courses in the Glass House — the vision and budget are yours to plan.
Food, drink, flowers, photography and music are contracted directly with you. We ask that you work with a professional planner — someone who does this for a living, not a family member or a friend. We know some good ones.
