Take a Look Around
We have taken great care to preserve our Maine roots while creating new, inspired spaces for the ultimate enjoyment of our 83 acres.
Getting to Tops’l
We are located 1.5 hours from the Portland International Jetport and 3 hours from Boston Logan Airport. We are tucked between two picturesque coastal towns on Maine’s MidCoast, Damariscotta and Rockland.
The Event Barn
Post-and-beam, thirty by forty, with a porch running its full length. The frame is real joinery in heritage timber; the room inside it is bright and plain and takes whatever you bring to it.
A workshop floor in the morning, a long table at night, breakouts on the porch when the group splits. Bistro lighting overhead, house sound available.
Seated, it holds about a hundred and ten. Standing, with the mezzanine and the porch open, more.
The Glass House & Tent
Heavy timber with glass the full length of both walls, so the room is the field, the tree line and whatever the sky is doing. Eighty at tables inside.
Attached to it, a thirty-by-forty clear-span tent carries a seated dinner to a hundred and sixty. Above eighty guests, dinner happens here — and when the forecast turns, it happens here anyway, without anyone's evening changing shape.
Riverside Yurt
A fifteen-minute walk through fern-lined woods brings you to the Medomak River, at the eastern edge of the property. At the end of the path, a twenty-four-foot yurt.
This is the quiet end of the farm. A library in the woods. A place to write, to think, to take a small session away from the group, or to carry a picnic down and eat it at the table by the water. Adirondack chairs built for this spot, and oil lamps and candles when the light goes.
It's where someone goes when they want the farm to themselves for an hour.
The Campground
11 Woodland Cabins for up to 22 campers
One of the first of its kind in Maine, glamping at Tops’l Farm is an experience to remember. Situated in the woods behind the meadow and event barn, there are 10 Woodland Cabins (two twin beds in each), one Queen Suite (accessible) cabin with it’s own bathroom facilities, and a communal bathhouse. Our darling A-Frames offer rustic comfort while experiencing the great outdoors.
Woodland Cabins
If you prefer solid walls when adventuring, we’ve got you covered. Our 10 A-frame cabins are minimally furnished with a king bed (or converted into two twins) with the Queen Suite cabin includes its own rustic toilet. We have 11 cabins in total (they share a common bath house), each sleeping two adult guests per cabin with some room for cots for little ones. A wonderful option to escape it all, each cabin site includes a private fire pit, two outdoor chairs, a lantern, and room to breathe.
BathHouse/Picnic Area
Showers and toilets are just steps from the cabin sites near our picnic area. Electronics charging stations and lock boxes are located at the bathhouse for each site for your convenience. There is no electricity in the cabins. The water in the campground is potable and fresh from our newly dug well. Vintage paperback books, board games, lawn games, and an electric kettle for emergency caffeine are provided.
